Ship Facts: Riviera Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Riviera Deck Plans
A wiser Cruise Traveller

This was a dream of mine to do a 5 star cruise in an exotic port, Istanbul we sailed to Ephesus,Santorini,Rome,Livorno,Monte Carlo,Marseille then Barcelona.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the food amazing fresh made to order. The ship was well maintained, immaculately clean.

The shows were entertaining, however some of the comedians weren't that funny. The casino was dead,no life in it and after 11pm not much to do. The T.V. entertainment in the rooms was good, had the latest release movies and CNN, BBC etc.

My only complaint would be doing tours from the ship was EXTREMELY expensive and not very informed of what you were getting for your money. We did a tour from Rome to the Catacombs, which was 1 -1/2 hr drive from The port, drive to a look out over a lake and lunch at an Italian farm house. Well for the 2 of us we spent $ 650 US for the tour we expected something fantastic. NO, NOT we had an rude indifferent Italian tour guide. Lunch was in a run down dump of a place, dried up Lasagne, inedible food severed off plastic plates.

When I complained to the ships management they were indifferent, they had there money and it was , so what, to bad.

They didn't offer they same consistency of quality on land.

So my advice is do the cruise, DONT do the tours of the ship . We spent a total of $1400.00 US on tours and were VERY Unhappy with there attitude.

It was such a lovely cruise but to spend all that money and not get value for it left us disappointed.

No I will not travel with them again
