Sail Date: May 2014

This was the first time my boyfriend and I have ever sailed on a cruise. We chose the Grandeur of the seas and the port of Baltimore for the close proximity to home. A friend drop us off in the drop off section of the port. When we arrived, port workers unloaded our luggage and put it on the luggage carts with other passenger luggage. We arrived later in the day, around 2:00 pm and had no lines to wait in. Our id's were checked and carry on bags were scanned. There was no line at the Royal Caribbean check in counters and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman. It took the two of us no time at all board the ship. I would say the whole process took 15-20 minutes. Since we arrived so late our room was ready for us. We had a ocean view room on deck 3. Our room was in the perfect location. We were close to the elevators but still far enough away that we didn't hear hallway noise. The room is small but nice for two people. Our room attendant was very nice and friendly. Our room was very clean and our attendant came twice a day with turn down service and fresh towels. The ship was small but still plenty of things to do on board. The food in the main dining room was great and we had a new menu with new options every night. Our dinner time was 8:00 pm which is good for people who like to spend more time on onboard activities or explore ports later. Our late seating time has mostly adults. We ate in the windjammer a few times however, I felt the food in the main dining room was better. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurants. The cost of those range anywhere from $20-$70. We attended a few comedy shows which were fantastic. The ship offers a nice variety of planned activities everyday. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. We had two problems with our room during our trip. On our first night we found the safe didn't work. We told our room attendant and maintenance arrived within 10 minutes to fix it. On our second day our hot water in our shower quit working. Again, we told our attendant and our shower was fixed by the time we came back from diner. Overall, we had an amazing first time cruise and would recommend this port/ship/and destination to anyone.

Cabin Review

Great room in a great location. Close to elevators but far enough down the hallway to where you don't hear people. Would recommend this room to anyone.
