Husband and I went on the Carnival Valor 2/4/07. It was a hard decision as to what ship to sail as we had numerous family members sailing the same day on RC Freedom. I did RC Serenade last year and was not impressed. We had gone on Carnival Inspiration a few years back and I loved it and thought the food was fantastic.

The Valor is a nice ship. Tastefully American History and Art. I will say it was extremely hard to navigate it, as you would have to go up one or two floors to get over to the other side of the ship. Whomever planned the setup disappointed many a guest as there was much complaining heard throughout the elevators.

They have a sushi bar open everyday 5p-7p and I love sushi so I enjoyed it. They need more a variety, though it was very fresh. There is Rosies which is your basic buffet and less than appealing salad bar, hardly any choices. I found the deserts so so at best. You must find the Deli really great sandwiches and lox and bagels too. ON the same level as Rosies, o the 10th deck they have fried fish and chips which I found mushy and mostly batter. The main dining areas had the best food, the captains dinner and last night was very good! We ate at Scarlet's also, it was ok and I would say it was worth the extra $ 70.00, the deserts were incredibly good. I was trying to compare it to Chops on RC and there was no comparison and RC was better and cheaper. There is a specialty coffee shop on deck 5 not to be missed by anyone who loves coffee and the biggest slices of all different kinds of cakes for $ 2.00, great deal! We found room service to be good. Slow service in the am though.
