Our third time aboard the Celebrity Eclipse and probably one of the most enjoyable cruises of our life, just beating our Eclipse to Venice cruise a couple of years ago by a short whisker!
The Maritime Crew were friendly and approachable as usual with plenty of chance to meet the Captain, Staff Captain and Engineer etc unlike the a cruise on P&O through the Panama last year who were the opposite. My husband & I are both keen sailors and I come from a long line of Maritime Captains we both enjoyed plenty of berthing action (ships not babies) from our balcony, this was our first time that we were not mid ship and were closer to the Bridge than ever before.
Talking of Entertainment, we found the shows not quite as good as before but it did not matter as such a lovely ship and such friendly staff.
We wish to give enormous praise to our Restaurant Waiter in Blu called "Wilson Dias" who looked after us on an earlier cruise. I especially appreciated the More
large melon for breakfast with fruit berries. Evenings meals were Excellent and the portions were just the right size and very delicate in flavour and presentation. Overall the restaurants throughout the ship were to a high standard and plenty of choice.
Our cabin steward "Cato" was very friendly and the cabin was spotless and a request for firmer pillows were all that we requested. He looked after us perfectly and hope he enjoys the pot noodles that we took on board for him in Le Havre, made him smile.
Only complaint is that there isn't one, check-in was quick and efficient, staff throughout courteous and helpful. Ports of call, Copenhagen, Stockholm, Helsinki, St.Petersburg, Warnemunde and Le Havre were excellent.
Would strongly recommend having a private 2 Day Comfort Tour with Alla Tours in St.Petersburg if anyone cruising in the Baltics, otherwise I am sure the Celebrity excursions are great if you prefer that.
Have booked the Caribbean for Next year on the Eclipse, have tried P&O, MSC & other cruise ships, but something draws us back to the Eclipse every year, they must be doing something right. Less
