Ship Facts: Allure of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Allure of the Seas Deck Plans
Already Dreaming of Our Next Trip

Hubby and I celebrated our 34th Wedding Anniversary with a repeat cruise on Allure of the Seas. We had a wonderful cruise on her in 2011; this trip was equally as wonderful.

We arrived in Fort Lauderdale a few days early to have some pre-cruise fun in the sun and set the mood for a very relaxing vacation. We stayed at Marriott Beach Place Resort; which is a timeshare resort. We don’t own a timeshare but somehow we were able to book a room though Marriott online. It was a nice resort, very quiet, right across the street from the beach, there’s also a CVS downstairs along with several shops, bars and restaurants. We would definitely stay there again.

We took a trip to Miami to have dinner at Joe’s Stone Crab, we had been there on a previous trip and it was on our list of must do. We also dined at Steak 954 one night and Coconuts another night. Both were delicious, Coconuts is a relaxed attire restaurant right on the Intercostal Waterway. Steak 954 was more upscale and a bit pricy, but the food was delicious with generous portions. We will definitely return to both,

We rented a car from Budget at the airport, on the day of our cruise, they shuttled us to the cruise port and picked us up when we returned. It was quick and easy both going and coming back. Check in at the cruise terminal was a breeze! The staff really knows how to get everyone through the lines quickly. We were onboard the ship by 1130. We took others advice to avoid the Windjammer on embarkation day. In stead we had a nice lunch at Park Café, it was nice to enjoy those delicious roast beef sandwiches again. I had several during the week, along with the very yummy fresh squeezed orange juice.

Our room 8568 was ready just before 2pm. We had our luggage by 3:30 pm. The room was in the perfect location; Central Park was a short walk away, and we were just two flights down from the gym and spa. The room was quiet; we never heard our neighbors or anyone that may have been in the hallway. We had plenty of room in our cabin, plenty of storage for all that we traveled with. Our stateroom attendant, Theresa took very good care of us, we never wanted for anything.

We did My Time Dining, which is our preferred choice each time we cruise. Prior to the cruise we reserved our dining time, our shows and specialty dining. It was quick and easy and allowed us the freedom of only thinking about relaxing and enjoying our trip once we were onboard. Service in the dining room was good also. I can truly say we did not have any bad experiences during the cruise.

We took advantage of purchasing the Royal Replenish drink package. We both enjoyed the freedom of having what we wanted to drink when we wanted it and often as we wanted. We also tried drinks that we otherwise would not have. We will order it for our next cruise.

The ship is beautiful! Once again we didn’t have time for everything but I think I may have found all the spyglasses, which are really interesting to look into!

We enjoyed all the ports! We both took advantage of getting a massage while in Labadee which was so relaxingly wonderful! We then had lunch and a leisurely stroll around the island. We decided to do the Dunn’s River Fall climb in Jamaica. It was so much fun! We purchased the DVD of our climb. We’ve watched it several times and are already planning for and dreaming about our next vacation. ☺

In Cozumel we took the highlights and shopping tour. We liked the tour but felt the excursion was too short, so when we got to the downtown we asked our tour guide to leave us downtown. We did some shopping and had a nice lunch at Palmeras. The ceviche and enchiladas our still on my mind as I write this. After all the good food we decided to walk the 3 miles back to the ship to burn off some calories. It was a scenic walk and thankfully a nice breezy day. There were plenty of taxis and horse drawn carriages along the way had we not decided to walk.

It was a wonderful vacation, over way too soon. We are looking forward to our next adventure with Royal Caribbean.
