Sail Date: May 2014

This was the first time we sailed with Celebrity and were expecting it to be a cut above Carnival, Norwegian and Royal Caribbean. Unfortunately, we found the ship to be in need of an update - nothing terrible but definitely not as nice as other ships we have been on. The decor was drab and a little worn in some places. The cabin was small. The cabin steward was great though.

The first night, my salad in the main dining room had browning lettuce. The pasta was horrible - dry and hard like it had been microwaved. The wine steward never did bring the wine I ordered. That was the first night. Unfortunately, this continued throughout the 11 night cruise. The staff seemed overworked and unhappy. The quality in the main dining room was so poor that in order to get a good quality meal - you had to go to the special dining and pay a pretty penny.

The activities onboard were not well planned and very limited. They seemed geared toward an elderly crowd which was probably appropriate since we were probably the youngest on the ship and we are in our 60's. Also information was hard to get even when you went to the service desk - only limited info was provided.

Cabin Review

The room was fine. Fairly small compared to other lines we have been on but adequate. The cabin steward kept the room clean and did a great job. The location of the room was fine - no real negatives.
