Boarding in Fort Lauderdale for the TA was fast and efficient.
We had cabin 2023 for the TA and 2033 for the European parts of the trip. I do NOT recommend cabin 2023. At night there is a whistling sound that will keep you awake. The room steward said it is probably the ship's stabilizers. We did not hear the noise in 2033 and other passengers in different cabins on that deck and other decks did not hear the noise.
The first day we had a problem with fruit flies in our cabin on the 2nd leg and housekeeping sent a crew to deep clean. The next day we found 1 fly and after that we were fly free. Guest Services gave us a complimentary specialty restaurant dinner of our choice for our trouble and our steward gave us a bottle of wine. This was more than the simple apology we expected. But great guest service.
We are not fond of the theatre layout on this ship. Even when you enter on the lowest deck you still must descend a flight of stairs to be seated on the main floor of the theatre. In high heels on a rocky sea this can be daunting.
The food is good, the Tuscan Grille Fillet was excellent. After 27 days the menu feels very repetitive.
Service at the buffet dining can be annoying. Staff is so anxious to clear table that many times we had wait staff reach to clear a plate when we were not finished with our meal. Lines at the coffee machine in the morning could be avoided if staff were more inclined to refill cups at your table. This was hit and miss depending on who was assigned to the area in which you were seated
All in all the staff tried to be accommodating and were very friendly. In the main dining room our waiters were often overwhelmed.
Would recommend this cruise and this ship, but don't expect the service and features you would get on a luxury ship. Keep in mind, you are not paying the price you would on a luxury ship. Just have fun and meet new friends and see the wonderful ports available on this cruise.
