Just sailed the Carnival Legend May 18,2014
Just sailed the Carnival Legend on May 18th, 2014.
We flew into Tampa on the day of sailing and reached the Port of Tampa with ease. The embarkation process was extremely easy and all the Carnival employees were very courteous and helpful. Noticed the ship appeared to be empty, not many faces around....Heard from crew member later that day that the ship was only about half full....Love it !...Felt like a private yacht at times...No lines, plenty of seating, no wait for venues and no wait times for tenders etc.....It was perfect. We purchased the FTTF package and we were on the ship by 1130am. We selected cabin 4194 on the main deck. It is a room with an obstructed view directly behind the lifeboats. Our room was located between the boats , so the view was not as bad as others may have had. We could see the water and beautiful sunshine everyday. Great room for the money. Our cabin steward Richard was excellent and took care of our needs during the sail. No complaints at More all....
We dined in the Golden Fleece Steakhouse the first night, where we received a free bottle of wine. Met friends on board who dined there the second night and they also received a free bottle. Could have been because the ship was not full..
Really the only one complaint I could mention was that we did not receive our luggage until around 250pm...Spoke with Rafal in Guest Services immediately and he looked into the matter and phoned back several hours later to apologize and refunded me the 49.95 FTTF charge. Very happy about that !...Will review ports of call in another section. Debarkation went very smooth as well. Less

Port and Shore Excursions
This was an excellent excursion too.. Met the representatives from Shoretrips at the port. They took us over to a private Island to snorkel and enjoy the beach. Approaching Goeff Island was beautiful. Looked just like Gilligans Island ! Just loved it. Snorkeling was ok....I was disappointed cause there were not a lot of fish to see...Guess they did not get the email we were coming. Spent a couple of hours soaking up the rays and if you like beer, be sure to make time for a Belekin beer. YUM !
Adventure of a Lifetime.....Got to experience the Manatees up close in the water. Got to feed them while swimming with them...They were very sweet and gentle....Photos were expensive, but we felt worth it. Hey you only live once !....Enjoy. Great encounter well worth the $.
Opted for a day of fun in the sun and water. Beautiful spot on the famous 7 mile beach. Had the beach to ourselves....Only a few locals around, but no big crowds of any kind. We lucked out too, cause their was only one other ship in port with us, so the crowds everywhere were minimal. Had a perfect day, great lunch too. I recommend the Mahi Mahi served Cayman Style ! Delicious.
Best Adventure yet !....Ziplined 16 platforms....Amazing ! Got me to do the Superman!....We Ziplined the South Shore....Highly recommend..Never scared or concerned for my safety. The guides are very friendly and always looking out for your well being.
Good but could have been bette...
