Just returned from a 6 day cruise with Independence of the seas. Not a great experience....

The ship is a great looking ship, which has some great concepts, but I am afraid is let down by 3rd rate service and extremely poor food. Caveat (the above statements are not reflective in Chops Grille).

Grand Suite was ok, nothing like the suites on P&O or the Sky Suite on Eclipse.

MDR - Rest in Peace, this concept cannot continue for much longer, extremely bland and poor quality food, most of the tables we unoccupied after the first night (probably due to poor quality)

Windjammer - Like a free for all at butlins, service and food is shockingly bad

Bar Staff - didn't seem to understand the word thank you and all of them obviously have serious problems with their smile muscles.

At every opportunity the boat felt like an exercise in "how can we get the customer to spend on their Seapass?"

The shows - magician was good, the Ice More show was great, chopps grille was lovely and being in a suite we could have a cooked breakfast in chops grille every morning which was amazing,

Both Celebrity and P&O have far superior customer service and Food

Royal Caribbean is now off my potential list of future cruises which is a shame considering the IOTS is not a bad ship, just has some god awful service and food..... Less
