My first cruise and certainly wont be the last.
Boarding the ship was good got our boarding number and sat down and about 5 minutes later we were give a priority boarding ticket and got on the ship in pretty good time.
Got to our cabin which was clean and well presented, Our Cabin steward ( IVON ) showed us where everything was and was very helpful. Our cabin was tidied up and bed made every day,
Food on the ship was excellent there was so much to choose from. The quality of the food was excellent apart from the prawns which were bland.
The Plantation Restaurant on the top deck is where we mainly ate and had no trouble getting a table anytime we turned up.Staff were brilliant, could not do enough for you,
Breakfast was excellent cereals, bacon ( Plenty of Bacon ) Boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, fried eggs, sausages, and the list goes on in the hot department so much that if you had a bit of everything you would need 2 plates, pastries, More fresh fruit, yoghurts, toast and jams too much to type about and you can have as much as you can eat.
Lunch, salad rolls, chicken rolls, meat rolls, pastas, fruit really something for everyone covering all tastes.
Dinner anything and everything from Roasts, hot vegetables of every kind you could think of, Jellies, custards fruit all kinds of dishes to suit all tastes, and the staff were friendly and chatted and were always smiling.
Around the ship there were so many different activities to choose from.
Duty free shops on board Liquor was cheap, $27 for a litre of Bundy put a smile on my face. Jack Daniels 1 litre was $36
The perfume on board seemed to be a little dear comparing with what you see in the shops especially since its supposed to be duty and tax free.
A bottle perfume that my Wife likes was $127 on ship and we got it at a chemist in Airlee Beach for $99 so figure that one out.
Plenty of room to party op on the main deck 2 small pools but big enough for a dip.
Big screen on the deck was awesome while sitting back having a drink or 4 !!!
Alcohol on board i thought could have been a little cheaper i was paying $9.50 for a can of Bundy and Cola around the same price as in the pubs but being on a ship where you have limited access to buy it i think should have been a little cheaper.
2 coffee shops on board that served every type of coffee you could think of, alcoholic ones as well.
Waterfront Restaurant which you had to book which is covered in your cost of cruise was nice, went there once was nice selection of meals.
Mobile drink trollies and waiters made sure you never waited for a drink.
We met some nice people on the cruise and we usually sat and joined 2 or 3 tables together on the top deck and always had a waiter there they tended to gather around and join in on the jokes and conversations.
Found getting on and off of the tenders where we stopped to go to land, good
Found that the shore trips we got though P&O to be a lot dearer than if we had paid when we got to the shore.
I have seen a lot of negative reports about the Pacific dawn on here, but for me it was a excellent trip with really few complaints. 10 out 10 for the crew on board. Less
