My mom and I did a back-to-back-to-back on the beautiful Explorer of the Seas to Bermuda and the Caribbean. We like the convenience of sailing from Bayonne, and we are looking forward to the new terminal being built. Mom needs a wheelchair for getting around on the ship. We ordered one in advance, and it was in our cabin ready and waiting. It made tooling wround the ship so much easier.

The Grand Suite is large and very comfortable. The color scheme is very pleasant and restful. The balcony was large and nicely furnished. The suite had plenty of closet and drawer space, thank goodness. The tub was steep and difficult to get in and out of. Our cabin, and the ship as a whole, was clean and well-cared for.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Denzil, the concierge; Augustine our MDR waiter; Noriel, the headwaiter; and Laida, our cabin attendant were the stars, but everybody was wonderful. Mom celebrated her 92nd birthday on the ship with 3 birthday parties and3 cakes that these lovely people gave her. Wow! We had breakfast and dinner in the MDR or Portofino. The gnocchi, osso bucco, and strawberry custard crepes were our favorites. And then there was all of the birthday cake we had to eat.
