First let me state what a beautiful vessel Silhouette is. Her captain took great personal pride in being in command and made himself available at every opportunity to talk with the guests, pose for informal pictures and (my personal favorite) he was very generous with the ship's whistle. LOVE to hear them! Our Concierge Class balcony stateroom was exceptional. One interesting design element was that the door to the room opened out into the corridor give one the impression of much more space. The bathrooms were extremely large and well appointed. We made numerous friends among our fellow passengers and had plenty to do at the various ports of call without using the overly expensive shore excursions.

Two things became an annoyance--we had originally selected the late seating for dinner. We were seated at a table for 8 and by the third night four had departed to due to the unbelievably rude and obnoxious behavior of one northern European couple--he slammed his plate down on the table and broke it because the waiter had to turn around to get him an extra fork--the wife threw food at the poor man. Finally we had enough and went to the Matre d' to arrange to be moved--we were told we could not move and no, we could not change to the "free style" dining. We were stuck with what we had chosen. Despite numerous requests we were continually denied and so we ate our remaining meals at the a la carte venues or at the casual restaurant. I like a glass of wine before dinner. We were sitting at the Martini Bar and when I asked for a glass of Cabarnet I was told they did not have it and that I would have to walk down a deck to the wine bar, get a glass and bring it back up. Now how difficult is it on a big ship to keep a couple of bottles of wine at the bar? Some of the bar staff were downright surly--one of my traveling companions went so far as to report her behavior to the Hotel Manager and he said they had received numerous complaints about her attitude and she would be released. She should have been pulled from service on the spot.
