What a disappointment the Jewel of the sea was. We had a cabin on deck 9 midship with a balcony and felt like the attitude of the cruise line was that what we paid for was just the bare bones minimum. If we wanted a nicer cruise, better tea, clean water, better food etc it was all extra. The ship had a sewer gas odor and the water in our bathroom sink was frequently brown. Now if I want good water to drink, that was also extra. My time dining is not really my time. They push and pressure from before you ever leave that reservations are really needed if not required for dinner. Show up without one and you end up with a table in the corner by the kitchen. I don't mean to sound bitter because this was really a great cruise. Unfortunely the great part was whenever we got off the ship. Embark and debark were a breeze. Our cabin steward and our eventual waiter were terrific. Guest services were rude and the spa tech. Was more concerned on trying to sell additional products and services than actually forcusing on the treatment scheduled. They now have footprint analysis but this was so they could sell you a $189.00 insert.

Bottom line, never again on this ship and maybe never again on Royal Caribbean. They have least a bad taste in our mouth and smell in our noses.

Cabin Review

Room was a typical cruise ship stateroom. Bathroom smelled like sewer gas and the water was sometimes brown coming out of the faucet
