We had never cruised before, so all of our experiences would be brand new. The Oceana was an excellent choice for a first time cruise, we had read many of the previous reviews and now wonder how some people arrive at their assessments. Embarkation was amazing from arriving off the coach (even this journey was great) to being in our cabin was one hour.First the service on board was amazing and all given by friendly staff who were prompt and very helpful, especially our cabin steward Stanley. This gentleman was polite and although busy took time to chat with us, he kept the room tidy and clean and touches like the chocolates on the bed at night made us feel special. The cabin was very comfortable and perfectly fine for the the time you spend in it. We couldn't believe the wardrobe space (38 coat hangers!!!) and loads of drawer space to. We chose freedom dining for our main restaurant and again the staff were brilliant and the food very good, never waited long and nothing was to much trouble.On two nights we also used the speciality and they were both simply fantastic. Entertainment was very good in our opinion especially "The Headliners company" OMG HOW HARD THEY WORK!! The ship itself certainly had the WOW factor, it was clean and staff were continually keeping it this way. I loved the photographers just snapping away as well never found them to be to much as some other reviews had stated. Th ports of call in Norway were good and as we loved walking found them perfect for our needs. Disembarkation was fairly straight forward and we were of and on the coach within 20 minutes. I cant thank P&O enough for this experience we are planning to use them again for our 40th Wedding anniversary in 2016. Previous reviewers I read prior to going away obviously have their own reasons / agenda for their comments but I found the whole adventure wonderful.
