MSC = MUST SURVIVE CRUISE
BACK HOME FROM SHORT BREAK - best news ever, we are a family of 12 travelling to celebrate a 40th anniversary, we are seasoned cruisers have travelled on many ships - over the years, but this was the worst ever- I did come and read the forum before I booked this cruise last year In September- we had children travelling for the first time on a ship and who were very excited.
MSC NAMED AND SHAMED!
You should not be proud of this ship and its crew! It was hit and miss at best - over 2 hours sat in marquee,dockside in Southampton to board ship - once on board started to see once people left areas that the floors were covered in food-cardboard-paper towels. crew - either never spoke English or chose not too! We stood at the bar for 20 minutes - no one interested - sat at table- no one interested. Went into café area, food - small choices, I have to have a gluten free diet and not much too choose from at all.
If you wanted a drink in this area, you pointed More on the drinks menu to an item, and they then pointed this to the barman to dispense, all of this taking half an hour. We were out to have a great time, chose not to have the drinks packages on offer. In trying various bars around the ship each time asking for attention - all walked past - promising to come back, no one ever did!!!!!!! The cabins were made up on arrival, and not turned down in the evening - we had to put down the extra bunks, and each night we had a tap on the door asking us if we needed any towels. Childrens life jackets were in the cabins, had to be signed for , and we were informed that we would be charged for them if they were missing/lost - and these were checked on the evening before we left the ship, and quite rudely too. We had to leave the cabin at 6.30am on departure day, to meet in the theatre updates of when to leave the ship. You get your bill on day of departure around 2am - with 7 euros each charged to the account service charge and a 1 euro per day each UNICEF donation, the queues at reception wound round the desk and people were in the queue for around 1 hour 15 minutes. We were told at 6am cannot help you come backin 1 hour - so all the time spent to query the bill! Have to say will NOT be travelling again with MSC - the whole ship was in uproar on leaving - with arguments at the disembarkation point with peoples billed showing as unpaid - lots of shouting. Then after that a coach ride as at embarkation to get back to cars. PLEASE READ THIS I AGREE WITH ALL OTHER TRAVELLS REVIEWS. but do give cruising a go! it is great fun.
We went to Guernsey, which was great. Less
