We are fairly frequent cruisers - Carnival, HAL, Princess and this was our second Celebrity. 1st Celebrity cruise was 12 night Holy Land cruise in 2011 - fantastic. We always thought Celebrity was a cut above. We invited our daughter and son-in-law for an 8 night Alaskan tour. We were both in Concierge balcony cabins. Very tight space, closet was inadequate for 2 people.

However- food in dining room was abysmal. Choices were limited unless you like turkey and beef cheeks (seriously) My daughter and her husband stopped coming to dinner with us so they could eat at the buffet. We even splurged on Murano (specialty restaurant) one night to try and salvage something ($200 for 4 of us) and other than the presentation tableside, we could have saved our money. My son-in-law is a vegan and all they could do was bring him a vegetable plate - nothing on the menu for vegetarians (our mistake for not checking) -were not even able to give him pasta.

What I find interesting is that the food improved dramatically on the last 2 nights - were they hoping that was what we would remember?? Lobster one night and filet mignon the next. It was almost an insult because you knew they were capable of it all along. We are not picky eaters, but in 2004 we went to Alaska on Carnival and had fresh fish every night that was put on the boat the same morning.
