We booked a Signature Suite to celebrate a special birthday. Prior to sailing we learned about Celebrity's new initiatives to improve the experience of Suite guests and while some of these "perks" won't be introduced until 2015 some of the "Go 1-2-3!" program were offered. These "perks" and the accompanying service provided by the staff made this cruise beyond extraordinary, and the added value completely outweighed the additional expense many times over.
We waited a while for check-in, probably more than we would have thought. While we were waiting one of noticed that certain passengers were provided with a light blue "folder"/room key holder and were curious as to what that was. When the staff member handling our check-in returned from collecting our room keys we soon found out: with a slight nod of her head she introduced us to one of the ship's Butler's (Avril) who was to escort us onboard to Michael's Club (more on Michael's in a bit) where we could await our Suite to be ready and enjoy some champagne and light refreshments. Key's in his hand we proceeded to board, but upon scanning our keys we were told they were not working properly and we would need to go to Guest Relations to have new ones made. Without missing a beat Avril said, "No. I'll take care of that for you. Please follow me." after which we were taken to Michael's, sat and quickly offered something to drink. Avril left with our keys and returned shortly with our new keys in hand - no need to wait in line at GR. This would become the level of service we would be provided throughout the entire cruise.
I have reviewed the Signature Suite under the "Cabin Review" section of CC, as well as descriptions of our experiences in the ports we visited under the "Ports Review" section. Please refer to these areas of CC for more information. However, suffice it to say our Butler Nash (who is also the Head Butler for the Reflection) and our room attendants Michelle and Basu provided outstanding service throughout the cruise.
We found the food to be excellent, as always. Any issue or problem was quickly resolved. Our dining room sommelier, Violeta, was superb with the most radiant smile ever and always had the perfect wine pairing recommendation. All specialty restaurants were wonderful. [In candor we have decided we don't care for the formality of Murano; the food and service were excellent, just not our style.]
In preparation for the full Suite Program Celebrity is launching in 2015, Michael's Club has been turned into a private, Suite only (Celebrity Suite and above) venue. Rachelle (pronounced Rachel) was our Michael's Club concierge (due to her contract ending, she was replaced with Lenny - who is a very friendly guy), and the concierge's job is to make sure you want for nothing. As Rachelle put it, "You should NEVER have to go to Guest Relations." and she provided the kind of service you would expect from a 5-Star Hotel. Maris, the Michael's Club bartender was also exceptional - friendly and happy and takes such pride in his work that it showed. He is a truly exceptional asset to the Celebrity Reflection. Finally we met some terrific people in Michael's with whom we hope to stay in contact for years to come and cruise with again.
Additional "perks" at Michael's include availability of complimentary beer, wine and water throughout they day, evening cocktail parties with cold and hot passed hors d'oeuvres, and small group parties with the ship's senior officers (we met the Captain 4 times!). All in all our Michael's experience has brought us to the conclusion that we will never sail with any cruise line other than Celebrity and will never book a cabin below a Celebrity Suite.
Our understanding in talking with fellow cruise members and ship staff is that Celebrity is also making future enhancements to the Suite Program: Suites will have a dedicated, Suite-only restaurant, and there will no longer be a need for Suite Guests to purchase beverage packages, internet packages, and specialty restaurants - it all will be included in the cruise fare. Knowing that why would we cruise with anyone else?
Took the train from Placa del Espana train station. Very easy. Lots of walking/hiking. The site itself is amazing!
Nothing to do/see here unless the open air market is being held.
Had a driver take us to Eze, Antibes, Grasse and St. Paul de Vense. A totally awesome day!
Booked the Discovery Tour with lunch directly through the LP website. Totally awesome and definitely worth the extra money. Beware of the taxis - they will wait for you but they keep the meter running the whole time you are in the park.
