Embarkation was a breeze. Arrived at the port around 1pm due to flights and there was no wait and no lines to get on board. We did the checkin at the airport, so we were ready to go as soon as we boarded. We went to our cabins (2 cabins, not adjoining, but we had the balcony partition opened. Port side, deck 8, midship.) Dropped our carry ons and headed up to the lido for lunch. Sail away was exciting, but I had to leave the party early since the orientation for camp carnival was at 5pm :( Wish they would allow more time to get settled before having activities that require your attendance. I do suffer from motion sickness, so I got the perscription patch from my doctor and did not have any issues. I could feel the ship moving whenever it was moving, where ever I was on the ship. I hear so many people say you can't even feel it moving. YES you can. We opted for the early dining and enjoyed our wait staff, but experienced less than stellar service from the bar attendant. Weather was beautiful and ports were beautiful. We did have a couple almost miss the ship leaving Nassau. We had actually oulled away from the dock and here they come running down the pier. The captain was kind enough to go back for them. Out of the entire cruise, I only have 2 complaints/suggestions. #1, our shower did not drain properly and filled and and basically flooded the entire bathroom every time we took a shower. Mentioned it to our steward, but nothing was done. Not a big deal. It was kinda interesting trying to take a shower when the ship was moving though. Water was sloshing all over the place. #2, I really thinkg Carnival might want to invest in some cruise ediqute type classes for passenagers. There were a lot of people speaking a lot of different languages, so I'm assuming we wern't all from the same place and may not all feel like some things are common sense. Such as deck chairs. You leave something on your chair if you walk away from it. Shows the chair is taken, nobody sits there. You leave your chair empty and walk away, don't expect someone not to sit there. For instance, it was drizzling a bit and people started leaving the deck. I guess they thought they would melt. So, my mom, my daughter & myself too this opertuinity to get better lounge chairs. We had just sat down when an overbearing, alcohol drinking couple insisted that we stole the 1 chair thay had for their 5 person family. Did they leave something on the chair? NO. But it was raining and they just walked away for a minute. Um, no. You just lost your chair. I litterly had to jump in between them and my 60 year old mother. Anyway, I guess don't take for granted that everyone has common sense. Debarking was not as smooth as embarking. We had an early flight and wanted to do the self assist, but they convinced us that our luggage would be ready. Then proceeded to shove us all in one of the show rooms becasue we haden't gotten clearence from the US to debark. We did make the flight in time, but it was a little more stressful that I would have liked. Overall, I did have a good time and would cruise Carnival again.
