Sail Date: May 2014

We were on the April 27th sailing which ended with the infamous Hudson River delay upon return. Let me just say that the news media reports were insanely inaccurate. We made new friends during the wait period, were set up in O’Sheehan’s on Deck 7, and there was food and drink and clean restrooms. Sure, the wait was annoying but things happen. It was a long a tiresome disembarkation (coupled with a 5 hour drive home for us, as we live in MA) but not much you can do. I personally am not holding this against NCL.

This was our SECOND time on the Breakaway. We love the ship and love the convenience of driving to NY rather than flying. Since we’ve done both itineraries, we are now biting the bullet and trying the much talked about Epic in November going out of Miami. We've also sailed on the Star back when she was in NY. We're two middle aged adults, traveled without kids so this review wont include any kid info other than to say yes, there are many kids on board (but greatly minimized by avoiding vacation week/summer) and the ones you do see are totally out of control more often than not, but that's life today not just on this ship.

We were on a Spa room on Deck 11 which gives you free access to the thermal suite. We did not use it as much as we had hoped to but it was very nice and relaxing. We would not spring for this again. Last time we were on we had done passes to the Vibe but figuring it would be cold the first day or two down and the last day or two back we didn’t think we’d use the Vibe (last time we spent 6 hours a day up there, every day, WELL WORTH IT!). It was fun to try the Spa tho, daily access goes for $199/pp but again with a designated Spa room it’s factored into your room cost.

Cabin Review

Spa cabin, no complaints! Very nice, had access to thermal suite.
