Sailed on Carnival May 2014 on the Freedom and have very little good to say about the ship itself. We had the first cruise for this ship out of dry dock. The ship was not complete and not ready for sailing. On the dock on Sat. we were watching them load all the items on the ship. As it started raining actually pouring rain all the suitcases were out in the rain for about 45 minutes before they moved them back into the terminal. While they were moving the bins of suitcases, the forklifts crashed and dropped some suitcases and then ran them over. Once on the ship our suitcases were soaking wet along with all the clothes. The service desk told us to dry our clothes in the laundry area. I for one on vacation do not do laundry. Also the ship left the dock 3.5 hours late. The updates to the ship were not completed, the waterslide, did not work for 2.5 days, Putt-Putt Course was not open, children's area was not done, the new bars they were putting in were not complete and did not open until Thursday into the cruise, we had to look at blue traps covering building materials, and the communication on ship was horrible. Once back home I called customer service, they were nasty because I was complaining about the ship. Did not even get an apology.
On the last night of the cruise they auctioned off what they were claiming to be an $800 watch. My son won the watch and we priced it online once we got home and the value of the watch was under $100.
Needless to say we will never sail Carnival again.
Cabin was nice but run down. Doors on the closets did not close, bulbs in lamps were burned out and carpet was dirty.
