MSC Divina Cruise Review by balunbustingbear: One of the best cruises

One of the best cruises
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
I'm usually not one to write a review, however, before the cruise I was reading up on the reviews of the MSC Divina and was a bit concerned with all of the "negative nellies". Now that I have experienced the ship and the MSC cruise line, I cannot say enough about them.
In brief, the ship is amazing. Small attention to details everywhere. Tasteful and elegant. Elevators to the maximum compared to other ships of this size. The grand lobby with the "Swarovski Crystal" stairs is breathtaking.
The staff, very outgoing, always with a smile and a "hello". The dining room waiters are polished, professional and ensured that a pleasant meal was always had. This is a European ship and dinner is relaxed and served with that Euro style. This is NOT a 1 hour "let's see how much we can eat and how many lobster tails I can get on my plate" type of meal service. If that's what you want then stick to the red and blue cruise line.
Nutella bar up on the pool deck...HEAVEN. More Gelateria on the pool deck AND in the Piazza del Doge...HEAVEN. Espresso at EVERY bar...HEAVEN. Good coffee at the buffet and in the restaurant AND I do mean GOOD coffee. Not the yuck coffee that is normally served on the other cruise lines.
Interesting Mediterranean cocktails using Aperol. May I recommend the "Aperol Spritz" if you do take the MSC Divina. It's like a Venetian summer's afternoon in a glass!
The photographers are some of the best at sea. What they DIDN'T do was stand at the bottom of the gangway and harass you to take a photo with the stupid pirate or dressed up character. What they DID do was the obligatory get on board the ship photo, some dining room table photos, but best of all they stationed themselves throughout the hallways and public areas all evening long. They would take portrait style photos, off the cuff, relaxed, intimate, leaning against a unique wall feature or against a funky pillar or Venetian lamp post. Those are some of the best photos I have ever seen.
The evening entertainment was, how does one put it.....O M G GOOD! They do a matinée on the second sea day. It's a condensed version of "La Traviatta" .... I was stunned. The tenor they had on board doing the opera was a young fellow by the name of Nazar Tatsyshyn. Watch for this young man in the opera world. On the last evening they do another opera style show and he just nailed the aria Nessun Dorma. All of the other shows would rival any trip to see the Cirque.
The disembarkation was a breeze and very very well organised. It was not the usual cluster (insert word here) that is normal on large ships. There were no constant announcements. You simply followed the guide left in your cabin, reported to your assigned waiting area and then at the prescribed time you were escorted from the ship by a crew member wishing you safe journeys as you left. How very civilised!
All in all it was one of the best cruises I have every taken and will look at doing another MSC cruise in the very near future. Less

Cabin review: 8185
Perfect for an inside cabin. When you are never in the cabin only to sleep, shower and get ready to be out and about it is the choice to be made. Comfortable bed. Bathroom was decent size. GLASS DOORS in the shower instead of a nasty shower curtain getting stuck to your legs. Good closet and drawer spaces.
Port and Shore Excursions
An NCL island that MSC must rent. They have done wonders with this private island. Perfect ending to a perfect cruise.
Disappointed First Time Cruise...
The good, the bad and the ugly
Decent cruise with some issues
Good but improvement needed.
First and last cruise on MSC
