Mom's Day Cruise

Sail Date: May 2014
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: New Orleans

Our cruise began with an incredibly easy embarkation. This was my 14 cruise with Carnival and we are platinum so we were priority boarding. We arrived at the Erato St Terminal at 10:00 and were in our cabin by 11:00.

Our cabin was U69 which was a grand suite. This is a modified suite so it has a walk in shower. We were told that this was the only modification and that everything else was standard to a grand suite. The room doesn't have couches which make into beds. It has the beds that come out of the wall. Other than that it was nice.

Plenty of space for storage for 3 people. Our room steward, Lawrence, was great and did everything possible to make this a special cruise for us. Food was good. Normal cruise fare. Shows were average. Casino sent us chocolate covered strawberries during the cruise. Our platinum gift was Carnival Tervis Tumblers and pins.

Our ports of call were Cozumel and Progresso. We shopped in both ports. It was very hot. My suggestion is More to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate (water was our choice because of the heat). Got some amazing jewelry deals in Cozumel.

Debarkation was self-assist for us. We were off the ship and driving away by 8:00. Overall the trip was fabulous and uneventful. Met some incredibly nice people along the way and spent some great quality time with my mom and sister. Ready to sail again in September. Less
