Admittedly, this was the Liberty's very first cruise out of Port Canaveral since repositioning from Miami however, that should have had zero impact of the quality of the cruise. The list of errors was enormous and when viewed individually seem excusable. When viewed in total, these errors were, in a word, unforegivable. I'll list them in order from most to least significant.
First, the satellite system was inoperative the whole cruise despite attempts to repair it at all 3 ports. Result..we were unable to view NBA or NHL playoffs in the Liberty's very nice sports bar. Next, there was a smell of raw sewage while walking from our cabin to the elevators. We complained from day one and it was finally resolved on day 4. Room service (every time) was either late, wrong order, or never showed up at all. Please don't call and wake me up to say the order will be an hour late!!! Dining room food quality was a mixed bag....sometimes (50%) outstanding and 50% below average (mostly overcooked). The dining room staff was very slow, unfriendly, and a 2 hour plus nightly ordeal. Sometimes, the wine package wouldn't show up at the table for 30-45 minutes after you arrived!! Service gradually got better after head waiter involvement but waiter attitudes hit rock bottom. There was no excuse for slow service since the ship seemed only 50% occupied!! We are Carnival fans and usually stick up for them in a crowd. Carnival has taken "do more with less" to the absurd.
This was our 10th Carnival cruise and by far the worst experience. It never occurred to me to write a negative review on any other cruise. One more thing. If somebody shows up in the dining room in a tee shirt with a baseball hat on, he/she should be asked to leave. Why have a dress code you never enforce??
Cabin was just fine....lots or storage space and everything worked EXCEPT the TV.
