This was our 19 cruise 5 of which were on Carnival. This is the first one on the Carnival Sunshine. I, like others thought the negative reviews were just from people who had it in for Carnival for one reason or another. Well, we should have taken the reviews to heart.

The stateroom was an interior room and was actually larger than we thought it would be. We had several problems there... the shower curtain was to short and not wide enough to keep the water in the shower stall. We had a leak behind the toilet, reported it to the steward, never got fixed. What is with the toilet at an angle... very uncomfortable. Only one glass in the bathroom the whole time we were there, but there were 3 (fancy)water glasses in the stateroom, but no ice unless you requested it. That seemed weird to me. The room had no refrigerator, chair, or end table. We couldn't put our luggage under the bed, because there was another bed under there (both beds had stuff under them)

Dining... I couldn't wait to have a hamburger at Guy's Burger Joint. They were so good on the Conquest. Not on the Sunshine, they were greasy and so were the fries. I was really disappointed. We scheduled anytime dining and this turned out fine for us, we love to eat early. The wait staff was very good but seemed over worked, food was usually room temperature by the time we got served. We were always seated at the rear of the restaurant near the windows. This would have been fine but it was always so very warm back there. The A/C could not keep up with the sun hitting the windows. We always asked to share a table and many times were left alone while diners that showed up later got to share. We love to meet new people. The tables were really crowded together. It seemed that they added tables in the place of former isles.

Cabin Review

Cabin not sure

The stateroom was an interior room and was actually larger than we thought it would be. It was a guaranteed room. We had several problems there... the shower curtain was to short and not wide enough to keep the water in the shower stall. Only one glass in the bathroom the whole time we were there, but there were 3 (fancy)water glasses in the stateroom, but no ice unless you requested it. That seemed weird to me. The room had no refrigerator, chair, or end table. We couldn't put our luggage under the bed, because there was another bed under there (both beds had stuff under them). There were two beds that receded into the ceiling.
