This was our shortest cruise, we typically go 7 night cruises instead of 4 nights. This was our 5th Carnival cruise, the food on board was wonderful. The crew was exceptionally friendly and very helpful, our cabin steward was perfect, anticipating our needs (ice, towels, water...etc) The ship does lack some of the Carnival "color extravagance" that we have seen on other ships, which did not bother us at all. The comedy clubs and the piano bars were very fun. The ports were a bit boring, Catalina is a nice an American tourist town on the beach while Ensenada was a disappointment. However after 2 hours we got back on the ship and enjoyed the ship practically to ourselves all day, until about 4pm.
The cabin location is great for being near everything, it was a bit loud at dinner time as we were near the elevators and people walk by on their way out but it did not bother us at night, in the morning and we had no noise from either above or below. Water pressure on the shower was great, they put the mattress together to form a king my side sagged a little, my wife's side was comfortable.
The ship has a pretty small adult serenity area but that area does have 2 hot tubs, the area always seemed to be almost full, but somehow we were always able to find a place to relax. The hot tubs were crowded but they usually are on most ships. The weather wasn't great but that is hardly Carnival's fault :).
