Having read the reviews on here and following some of the threads in the members area regarding the ship's refurbishment we were a little apprehensive about what we were in store for prior to embarkation. Thankfully as soon as we had boarded our experience was very positive from word go. The ship's recent 'revitalization' was on a smaller scale than we had hoped for (and I think less extensive than RCI originally intended), but regardless of that the ship is in excellent shape. There are new carpets in most of the hallways and communal areas, the outdoor areas are all refurbished and there are new flat-screen tv's in the staterooms.

Our booking had two staterooms- one D1 Superior with balcony (9222) and one Promenade View (7295) and we were very pleased with both. 7295 was definitely newer/better maintained in its soft furnishings and furniture as 9222 had a couple of very minor chips and scratches of the painted woodwork which really shouldn't have been there immediately after a refit. The stateroom attendants for both were excellent and very accommodating. The robes were not in our rooms upon arrival but upon request the attendants brought them immediately and also set up the rooms with tea and coffee making facilities.

The communal areas of the ship are very impressive and well kept. The Schooner bar is lovely with a wonderful ambience and good service, and the Champagne Bar was excellent also. Special mention to the Champagne Bar staff who were outstanding- especially Phil and Juxon.

Cabin Review

Excellent cabin- very good condition with what seemed newer curtains and furnishings. Looks over towards the General Store. Well insulated from Promenade Noise with the exception of the Promenade Shows but they do not finish late anyway. Good location mid-ship though slightly closer to the aft elevators.
