I went on this cruise because i am sailing her in December to the eastern caribbean, and i wanted to see what the ship was all about... Really i can't judge the ship too much, because it was only for one night, and a lot of loud roudy people, which i don't enjoy too much..... but getting back to the Gem, i thought that the ship had a very homey feel, and nice and cozy....Definitely the ship was very easy to navigate around on....
I prepaid for a reservation at the Le Bistro which was $20....and had a lovely time dining there, and the food was absolutely delicious, and presented to the table very nicely.... I had the Filet of Beef, which melted in your mouth.... also ate in the Pacific Dining Room for lunch and breakfast the following morning....and i thought that the food was very good, and the food was presented to me nice and hot.... again as i said before, i cannot judge to much on the ship, as i was only there one night....but some of the people that were on the cruise, were down right loud and roudy...even in the Le Bistro, where i ate, they had a large birthday party in there, and those people were so so loud, that some of the guests asked to be moved to a more quieter location....
My cabin was 9549....forward on the ship....it was an inside cabin....and i loved it.... i got the nice cozy feel to the room....and everything was in order..... I am definitely looking forward to my cruise on the Gem in December, and i know that i will have a better experience....as it is a nine night cruise.....
Loved my inside cabin....for one person it is just fine.... everything was spotlessly clean....bathroom a nice size...with a sliding door to the shower....had hand soap, body gel, and shampoo in dispensers....only thing that was missing were wash cloths....there were hand towels, and bath towels, but no wash cloths....Never met my cabin steward until the last morning.....she was there ready to make over my cabin....very very nice lady...I believe her name is Ivonne.....
