Our first transatlantic cruise.

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Transatlantic
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

We travelled from Bergen/Norway to Fort Lauderdale to boarding Celebrity Eclipse for a 13 day transatlantic cruise. We flew Norwegian long haul, a beatiful dreamliner. Our best transatlantic flight so far, and we have tried some.

Stayed for 3 nights on Hilton Fort Lauderdale marinaen, a good choice for pre cruise stays. Very close to the port. Not to expensive, clean rooms and a nice pool area. The hotel is in need for some renovation.

This was our second Celebrity cruise. Eclipse is a fantastic ship, spotless, nice interior, beatiful cabin and very good cabin stewards who kept the cabin spotless through the entire cruise. They were well worth some extra dollars.

The food onboard Eclipse was delicious. Were in i Aqua class cabin, and had dinner in Blu restaurant. Menu different every evening, with a wide selection of dishes. All well prepared. Waiting staff running all the time, but very nice. Ocean Cafe very good, wide variation, exellent quality food. Much More better than equivalant on RCL ships. Speciality restaurant Tuscan Grill served gourmet food, best quality, but a bit to much food. A perfect meal.

Entertainment was ok. Eclipse orchestra were fantastic. Guest entertainers good, dansers and singers the same. Female cruisedirector, she did a good job.

Visited Bahamas, Bermuda and the Azores. Nice places, good weather and enough time for sightseeing, shopping and beach visits. 7 days at sea, mostly calm sea, and sunshine mostly every days. Alot to do on sea days, or you could do nothing. That's the quality of cruising.

Disembarkation in Southampton were quick. Immigration control tok place onboard between the Azores and Uk. Smart love by Celebrity. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Eclipse 1601

Cabin 1601. Nice cabin, large balcony with deck furniture. Some noice from deck 12, moving deck furniture for cleaning 1 night. Except from that quiet. Comfy bed. Not a lot storage place. Bathroom great, with a "spa shower". Midships, great location.
