We are not novice cruisers although it had been a while since our last cruise; Emerald Princess out of Fort Lauderdale to the Caribbean in May of 2010.

We enjoy going to Las Vegas and one of the casinos gave us a “free” cruise if we showed up on a particular weekend. We did and received a voucher for two on Norwegian Cruise Lines over some selected dates and locations. The free part meant inside cabins with the opportunity to upgrade and our having to pay tax and port fees. The “gave” part meant simply meant that we have spent enough time playing video poker and black jack to be worth incentivizing with the hopes that we would bring a large enough bank roll to leave in the onboard casino.

After thinking about it, we thought March would do nicely to escape from the frozen mid-west into the warm sunny skies of the Caribbean again.
