We recently completed our Danube River cruise from Budapest to Passau on the river Beatrice.
As we observed on our trip, there are many competitors to Uniworld that ply the same waterways. Certainly these cruise lines all travel the same route, stop at many of the same cities, and share some of the same guides. This became a topic of conversation with some of the many friends that we made. The veteran cruisers on our ship, who had traveled on both large and small ships, all noted the quality of the service and friendliness from the staff and crew exhibited on the River Beatrice. In terms of the dining experience, the breakfasts were sumptuous, the lunches offered regional favorites, and the dinners were truly 5-star cuisine.
The exceptional service ranged from Cruise Manager Markus, who always provided great regional insight and good humor, Hotel Manager Carmen, who ensured that food and drink services were up to high standards, and the very amicable Captain Smit. While all of the staff was great, servers such as Anna and Boyana, served you with professionalism and a smile.
An example of service was when several of us had asked the cruise director about the possibility of visiting the Budapest Parliament building. After lunch, we had a cab waiting, priority tour passes along with tram tickets as this provided the most scenic route back to the ship.
While there are multiple ways of travel, it’s how you get there that counts. We can’t believe that any other cruise line could have been any better than that on the River Beatrice. Also, this was not our first Uniworld cruise. In 2013, we sailed on the SS Antoinette from Amsterdam to Basel where the same degree of quality service and professionalism was provided. . This is why we expect to take other Uniworld cruises in the future.
Thank you River Beatrice crew and staff for a memorable trip.
