We just got off the cruise ship Elation out of New Orleans and I must start by saying this, What the hell were they thinking.. This ship was built in and or around 1996 and it looks like the 60's and 70's through-up all over the ship. The colors and the boat itself makes you want to jump over and swim home after being on board a few hours. The ship is very run down and just very hard to look at, There were dishes left all over the place, down hall ways, around the ship and in the dinning areas ( good luck finding a table ) unless you want to clean one yourself. The food was not very good at all, Well ok I will take that back 10% of the time it was ok. You could tell by the taste of it that it was powdered, Microwaved, or frozen and reheated, just nasty. 65% of the staff looked as if they hated there jobs and being there and we not helpful or friendly at all, that is when you could get on away from the group they were talking and cutting up with.

The best part of the cruise was getting off the ship ( Thank God ) Mexico was beautiful and is a must see. Beautiful blue water, friendly people, and so much to do in the very short time before the ship rushes you back on board and another night in hell on the 60's cruise ship. I don't want to sound all negative here but I really do not have to much good to say about this ship, its staff, or the way they run it ( Nasty), But the Desserts were very well put together and hey the ice cream was good ( when there was any ). This was our first cruise and if I can offer any advice to anyone ELATION is not the one you want to go on if want a good experience. Pick another cruise line and hope it is better. The Cabins were ok ,the Tv did not work but we had a window, and the person doing the room cleaning ( Ninno) was awesome he was the high light of the whole trip... Best of Luck....
