Great Celebrity Summit Cruise

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: San Juan

The ship was in great shape, we were on the ship in seconds and had a glass of champagne.

We spent the first day getting acclimated to the ship. This is our second Celebrity cruise so were familiar with some of the features, The pool was a good size, the whirlpools great and the pool in the solarium invigorating. Our room was on floor 2 forward, a departure from our usual upgraded cabin. We did fine with a porthole and received great service all week from our room steward Peter.

We had select dining which meant we could dine anytime. We also had the premium beverage package.

Both were great, we met a lot of nice people while dining.

We attended a few memorable events while on board, first was a meeting with The Captain and his staff on Sunday for Cruise Critic members, the second was a great cocktail party for returning Celebrity members and the third, a tour of the bridge for Cruise Critic members, all 3 first class!

Our favorite locations More on board were the oceanside pool, the martini bar and the Cosmopolitan restaurant.

tips:the forward elevator was least crowded especially at peak times, we purchased 8 wheel luggage which made it easy to roll around, no more pulling the bags, highly recommend the catamaran tour swimming with turtles in Barbados Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Summit 2036

nice cabin, not a lot of room to navigate but we got used to it, plenty of closet space and were able to store our luggage in the closet as well

Port and Shore Excursions

Catamaran Tour

Great, this was one tour not two, we boarded the catamaran and were brought out to the area to swim with the turtles, we say about a half a dozen, the current was very strong but the crew helped us get back in, we then were brought to another spot to swim on the reef, music played while on board, lunch was served on board, chicken, fish, rice mac n cheese and a variety of drinks, everyone on board was happy!

Turtle Swim

Great, this was one tour not two, we boarded the catamaran and were brought out to the area to swim with the turtles, we say about a half a dozen, the current was very strong but the crew helped us get back in, we then were brought to another spot to swim on the reef, music played while on board, lunch was served on board, chicken, fish, rice mac n cheese and a variety of drinks, everyone on board was happy!

Bacardi Rum Distillery

(3)

We stayed at the Sheraton Convention Center upon arrival and had a nice time there, pool area lovely and Mexican restaurant good.
Our last day before going to the airport we took the Celebrity Bacardi Run tour with airport drop off
I enjoyed the tour and tour guide, we were at the airport before noon

We took the Sea and SEE tour, a bus brought us to the Dutch and French sides and toured, we then boarded a type of open air boat with a submarine bottom, after a brief ride we went downstairs to view life underwater, it was a good time, mostly saw small reef type fish, coral and see urchins, very nice tour
