Family break on the Reflection

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

Living in Florida, we drove to the Port of Miami and parked our car at the port. We found parking easily, and walked across to the port. We dropped our bags off first and were helped immediately. We entered the port at about 10:45 and had no wait. The woman at the desk was pleasant and efficient and we got our ship cards quickly and walked right onto the ship.

We were traveling with our 3 children 17, 22, 21 and our sons fiancé. We upgraded to an Aqua Suite for us, a veranda for my girls and our who came with us last minute, had an ocean view cabin.

This is our third time on the Reflection, but our first time in the Aqua Suite. It was very roomy, tons of storage and a great shower with all kinds of jets. Everyday we had fresh flavored iced tea, and at 3:00 we had snacks left in our cabin by our butler. It was really nice. Our room was clean and everything was always replenished.

Our weather was great and we seemed to always find chairs on the top More deck. The chairs all have cushions which is a plus.

The outside bars were crowded, but the staff was fun and very friendly.

We had anytime dining, but requested 7:15 dining and had the same time and table every night. Our wait staff was great, and Fernando our sommelier was very attentive. The food at dinner was fair, it was a bit dried our and salty. It seems like each time we cruise on this ship, the food at night is going down hill.

We ate at Tuscan Grille one night which was fabulous. The atmosphere was great, the service and the food were top notch. I would highly recommend it. So relaxing and so good.

The entertainment was good, we have seen the shows before, although they added a few new numbers. The magician was great, and the cirque like show amazing.

The Martini bar is great and lots of energy and fun. The bartenders were great and made for a fun time. The DJ played a lot of house music and not a variety for people our age 40;s and 50's.

The ports were San Juan, St. Thomas and St Maarten. It was easy getting on and off the ship and the weather was great!

The ship has a lot of great different bars to try. The Martini bar made of ice is great, and the bartenders put a show on pouring up to 25 martinis at a time. The molecular bar offers a lot of very interesting drinks to try and are presented in a beautiful way. The sunset bar is also a favorite, it has the best views and is a relaxing place to sit when pulling into port or leaving port.

My only negative about the ship is that there is no consistency. They used to have Karaoke every night and even had a contest on our first cruise which was great. This time they only offered it a few times. They used to have American Idol top 10 winners on as well, but that is gone. The huge brunch buffet is also gone.

This is our first cruise where we never saw the cruise director and never heard announcements about the days activities. That was definitely a let down.

I do have to say though, we will cruise Celebrity again. Overall the ship is great, the drink package is a bonus, and the staff is exceptional. We love the Solstice class ships. Less

Cabin review: Celebrity Reflection 2162

The Aqua Class Suite was very spacious with lot's of storage. The bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub and shower with lots of jets. We had Bvlgari shampoo and lotions in our bathroom every day which were great. Huge fluffy towels and robes as well. There was fresh flowers, brewed flavored Iced tea, and fruit ever day.Our butler brought us snacks every day at 3 pm and left them in our suite. After having a suite, it is going to be tough to go back to a veranda. Because we traveled with our kids who were not in Aqua class, we did not get a chance to try Blu. Next time, I hope to have the chance to eat there, I have to say it was worth the splurge.
