Embarked in Singapore for a cruise in Asia, was unaware that the ship had been in dock for two weeks to make it ready for Japanese tourists embarking in Tokyo.
Our cabin which was very roomy had had a new toilet installed which incorporated a bidet, installed solely for the Japanese market. The seat was very very small.
We swim and sunbathe in the pool at the rear of the ship the pool was dirty until complaints from passengers had it cleaned then shut for two days. Many of the sunbeds were broken and dirty. On deck 14 which last year had another pool we had no access it was shut off for the installation of a Japanese bathing pool complete with new shower furniture and hoist.
Princess had taken on a number of new staff in Singapore and we feel we were there for the staff to get trained on some of them were offhand and some downright rude.
We opted for anytime dining and over the course of two weeks the food went downhill as did the service. We waited fifteen to twenty minutes some evenings to be given a menu. The dishes on the menu were gradually replaced with Japanese dishes and our choices got less.
This was our third Princess cruise and the worst cruise we have had with any company.
We paid a considerable price for substandard service for Princess to get the ship to Japan.
We will consider very carefully before booking with Princess again.
