Ahead of our cruise I tried to get some information about MSC Magnifica and read many reviews. Unfortunately some have been really positive while others have been extremely negative. Now that I have been on the ship, I tend to side with the latter.

Embarkation: No issues at all, quick and efficient (note: Embarkation in Amsterdam was in contrast a disaster. Stood in line for 2 hours to get back on the ship). Disembarkation at the end of the cruise was equally terrible. No announcement and it took about 2 hours to get off the ship.

Food: The food was clearly the biggest disappointment. It was bland and nothing special at all. It was several leagues below Carnival, NCL or Princess. Don't select MSC if you are interested in good food, you will not find it. The buffet restaurant offered limited choices and most of the time was out of cutlery, dishes, organge juice, you name it. We stopped eating breakfast as it was plain horrible.

Cabin Review

The room is very nice and tastefully decorated. Unfortunately the curtain had holes and the blanket is no duvet but just a regular blanket. Really small TV.
