1. This unpleasant cruise started for my wife and I on Monday night (Oct 7th) when we ate the seafood pie at the assigned restaurant, Rigoletto at the early seating. By early morning neither of us felt well and by midday my wife was really sick with a sever case of diarrhea. By about 5pm she decided she could no longer take it and went to see the ships Doctor. She was charged a fee and confined to her room for 24 hours. I on the other hand still not feeling top dollar yet was certainly nowhere as ill as my wife. Although the sea was rough, my wife was not sea sick. (note this is certainly not the first time at sea for either one of us and we both have been in much rougher seas with no problems).
2. On the night of Oct 11th, there were indications we might stay moored in Auckland due to impending high winds on 12 Oct. However that was not the case and we departed Auckland. The next day we were supposed to dock at Tauranga, however all we ended up doing is a “race track” course outside the port of Tauranga all day. Total waste of a day of site seeing.
3. Again once at Napier, we spent the morning at sea, when about midday the decision to scrap the port of Napier all together was made and to move on to Wellington.
Cabin was satisfactory, but cabin attendant was fantastic always looking after us.
