9 Day Dream Re-positioning to New Orleans

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Southern Caribbean
Embarkation: Port Canaveral

We had a WONDERFUL cruise on the Dream! Embarkation was fairly typical, got to the port around 11:30am, was on board eating lunch at 12:45pm. The staff on board were all amazing! Maybe it was because we were on for 9 days, but we felt we got more personal service from all of the bartenders, wait staff, and cabin stewards.

We stayed in room 2376, Cove Balcony. It was a great room. About 30 feet above the water line, and little blocked by the life boats, but there was ample sun during the day and ample shade at times. The room itself was the typical balcony room, perfect amount of space for a couple. There were no issues with any amenities in the room, and it only showed minor wear and tear. This particular cabin is below the galley on Deck 3. There were some noises that could be heard at different times of the day, but never had any issue getting awoke during the night.

I must point out that early in the cruise and other random times during the cruise, while walking More down the hall from the Mid ship staircase/elevator bank to our room, there were unfavorable smells in the hallway. It was not ALWAYS there, but when it was, it was very noticeable and in the same location in the hallway. Gave us a good laugh as we walked through the hallway. NEVER did it enter our room.

There was always ample activities to keeps us entertained, plenty of food options and drinks were good.

Overall a wonderful cruise, we met some wonderful people and cant wait for the next trip! Less

Port and Shore Excursions

We went to Palm Beach and it was beautiful. Not an idyllic Caribbean beach due to all the high rise resorts, but the sand was pretty and water was clear! It is very WINDY on this island and due to the arid desert like weather the sand tends to blow and can be uncomfortable in certain exposed areas of the beach.

Another great day. Beautiful weather, great group and great tour. This tour is the one where they take you to the uninhabited side of Cozumel to experience a true Caribbean island. No resorts, only a handful of people and beautiful views. We stopped at 4 bars and each one you get a different "shot". Basically a mini-mixed drink. Great tour, very relaxing, hassle-free way to enjoy Cozumel.

Took taxi to Sea Grape Beach. $4/pp one way. Beach was AMAZING! Water was so beautiful and fairly calm! Great place to snorkel. We rented two chairs and enjoyed the whole day on this beach.
Walked down the beach to Calico Jacks and had Jerk Chicken for lunch, while using their WIfi.

We then took a taxi back down to the port area and did some shopping. Found some neat things at some great deals.

Tendering process was a breeze. We walked right on the tender to the shore as well as the tender back to the boat.

Jamaica for a Day

(5)

Booked this online, an all-inclusive day in Jamaica. Resort was literally half a mile from the ship dock, and from the resort we could see the ship all day. The resort itself was very nice, plenty of pool space, plenty of space to lay out on beach. By 12noon, chairs were harder to come by, but not impossible like on the ship.

Food was excellent and drinks were ok. Had many draft Red Stripes that hit the spot, as the liquor drinks were not made with quality liquor. In the lobby, there is a bar with TV's, they have a better selection of liquor.

Transportation to and from was included.

Definitely would book this again.
