Our very first cruise, having flown from England to Miami, boarding Coral Princess in Fort Lauderdale. We were very impressed with the standard of food and service in the Provence dining room. Food in the Horizon buffet was also excellent, and it was great being able to go up there in the late afternoon to have a cup of tea and some freshly baked cookies.
The cabin, a mini suite, lacked for nothing and was extremely comfortable and well equipped. Another good point was the organisation, and the seamless way in which passengers embarked and disembarked. The company of the Americans was great fun and we met lots of friendly and interesting people.
The entertainment was mixed - the song and dance shows were very short, and one (Motown) was shown at times which second sitting diners could not make. We enjoyed the showing of new film releases..
Re shore excursions, some were excellent, Costa Rica in particular. However the Panama one, with a sail on Lake Gatun and a tour of Gatun locks, was disappointing. We couldn't hear the guide on the boat trip as the engine was so loud, and we saw almost no wild life. At the locks, there wasn't really a guided tour - just a man who would answer questions if you asked him. In Aruba, the highlights tour was unimpressive.
Overall though, a great experience and we shall certainly cruise with Princess again.
