The EPIC was ...EPIC!!!

Sail Date: October 2013
Destination: Transatlantic
Embarkation: Barcelona
My husband & I took our first cruise aboard Norweigan Cruise Lines EPIC from Barcelona on a 20 day B2B meditterean & Transatlantic Cruise. Apart from a minor glitch at the pier registration (due to a less that customer friendly feamale staff member) our cruise was a delight! The EPIC is HUGE but you would not know the amount of people on board as there is plenty to do and see so you don't have a real idea how many people there are aboard until you disambark & look for your suitcase!

Our mini suite, cabin #11262 had plenty of room for the two of us with hidden cupboards, plenty of hanging space and room for the suitcases under the bed. Our steward, Voltaire, could not have been more helpful, pleasant or curteous throughout the entire cruise from providing extra ice when I had a fall to repairing my husbands shoe.

The Garden Fresh Cafe(complementary) on the top deck is a buffet that caters for every appetite ranging from steamed rice, hot curries & More pappadums, salad & vegetable dishes, your traditional roast dinner and everything in between. The two complementary dining rooms Taste and The Manhattan Room also offer delicious menu choices including surf & turf (steak and a lobster tail) at least once during the cruise. O'Sheean's has a menu similar to an old pub with chicken pot pie, fish & chips etc, very delicious! We did not use the specialty restaurants - with such fabulous complimentary menus to choose from, why pay for a meal?

Entertainmnet: WOW ... The Manhatten Band were exceptional - played music ranging from the Beatles, rock & roll, jazz & blues to big band & swing, the Band's vocalist Larissa is very talented!

Then there was the Blue Man Group - fantastic!! Well worth the money to see them - very entertaining and funny!

We also saw two sessions of the Legends in Concert - excellent shows, again, well worth the money! Personally I didn't think much of the Bruce Gold Comedy/magician show but others seemed to enjoy it.

In the Headliners Theatre was the Howl at the Moon group- duelling pianos playing requests intermingled with their repertoire - a club like atmosphere if you like that type of entertainment - the piano players are very talented and the banter between them is quite funny!

The EPIC staff provide dance & exercise classes on the pool deck and even if you don't join in they are reall good fun to watch! As are the 'Dancing with the EPIC stars show featuring EPIC crew and passengers paired up to win the show ... hilariously funny!!!

The EPIC being a big ship 4,500 passengers, was extremely stable and only on a few very rough days were any outside activities cancelled. Hubby and I slept like babies and at the end of the cruise felt the most relaxed we had been in ages.

Thank you Norweigan Crusie Lines and thank you EPIC passengers, staff and crew! Less

Cabin review: 11262

Generous space - plenty of room for 2 - loved the layout from the door - bathroom, bed, sofa and balcony. Very little noise, plenty of room on the balcony for the 2 of us, Curved walls were no a problem for us. Plenty of hanging and storage space.
