Fourth Trip on this ship

Sail Date: April 2014
Destination: Canary Islands
Embarkation: Tenerife

Thomson Celebration 4th April – 11th April (fourth trip on this ship)

arrived in Tenerife (South), Airport to harbour transfer went smoothly and looking forward to the ship improvements, public areas seating & carpets renewed new coffee bar and sales area created (aft) Broadway deck. New Deluxe balcony cabins on deck 9 (the more you pay the more you sway).

Our cabin was on deck 4 New kettle tea and coffee facilities but there’s a catch you have to buy the bottled water, shower / toilet cubicle had been refurbished to a good standard.

We declined the offer of the drinks package £225.00 per person for 7 days.

Visited Meridian restaurant once for breakfast & dinner the latter was very slow in each course arriving to the table,(guess there was a problem in the galley).

We used the Lido self service restaurant , usual selection of cheese limited cold meats very often no salad , hot food was varied but lacking quality ( More Dec 2013 the food was 5 *) there was an outside buffet and you could find burgers pizza tomatoes and salad also made sandwiches to order.

Fellow passengers had negative comments on the quality of the food, you could find something to eat.

Entertainment team was very good and produced good shows (not as good as the Island Escape team) you could pre-book a front row seat in the Broadway theatre @ £8.00 a pop ( no need to waste your money ) In conclusion we enjoyed the itinerary of ports of call. The cabin /restaurant staff and fellow passengers were friendly, overall it was a good holiday.

Sorry to hear member of Review (Theft dAN62) had items stolen when on board the ship passengers are usually very honest people ,but to leave Tenerife without a passport was doomed Canary Islands is not in the EU.

Incidentally going through airport security 3 people tried taking litre bottles of vodka in their hand luggage confiscated and poured into the bucket. Leaving security your in duty free shop . Less
