Let's start off with the basics. This is a budget cruise line. The upfront cost is very cheap and essentially you get what you pay for. The food is adequate, the entertainment top notch (second only to DCL), and the destinations bland at best. Unfortunately for many who have cruised before; NCL simply isn't worth it. The nickel and dimming can be nauseating, for non-smokers the smoke is everywhere, and the newer NCL ships are just terrible. Do yourself a favor, if you have to cruise NCL stick to the Dawn class ships (Dawn & Star).

After cruising with Disney, Oceania, SeaDream, RCCL, NCL, Holland, and Carnival, I can tell you that the NCL Epic is by far the worst cruise ship I have ever sailed on. The best way to put it is simply by saying that Epic is a cruise ship that is ashamed of being a cruise ship. Now this is not a knock on NCL itself. NCL is a decent cruise line that affords many people the opportunity to enjoy cruising at a discount price. But this cruise ship More just isn't worth it. Like I said, this is not a knock on NCL, when I want a cheap last minute getaway, NCL is usually my go to cruise line. But these bigger ships are simply an abomination to cruising. To put it more succinctly, NCL Epic is the Circus Circus of the cruising world. And to think that some people spent ridiculous amounts of money to be on this ship. Looking at you Haven suit guests !!! Next time take that money and spend it on Oceania (best food at sea) or Disney (good food/best entertainment).

As for the ship (Epic) I can only shake my head. small cabins with poor layouts. The casino takes up a whole floor (lots of smoke throughout, you'll smell it as soon as you board), the lifeboats obstruct the view of the ocean when running or walking the half-ass worst promenade deck at sea and unfortunately the ship feels crowded all the time. The sun deck doesn't really exist, and trying to view the ocean is difficult at best. I don't need to go over all the mistakes made when they built this ship. The online reviews are endless and NCL kind of admitted the mistake by only building one of these "ginormous" ships. But in all seriousness, your money would be better spent on any of the Disney ships or even the NCL Dawn or Star. Less
