I cruised with my 7 year old daughter and my husband. We had a blast! We drove to Port Canaveral from Mississippi, and we arrived a little late (around 2:30pm), so we were probably among the last to board the cruise. A few months before our cruise, Carnival contacted us regarding upgrading our Ocean View room to a Balcony, and boy were we pleased!!! Embarkation was a breeze! It took us maybe 15 minutes to complete the embarkation process. Once on the ship, we went to our cabin, and voila! Our bags were already there! We then went to the grab a bite to eat and let my daughter play on the water slides. She was won over as soon as she saw the slides! She also loved Camp Carnival. She made instant friends while there and wanted to be there more than she wanted to be with her boring parents! LOL!
Cruise: The cruise itself was great. My husband made good use of the exercise facility while I made good use of the food! LOL! The food was ok. Some of the buffet food was bland, but we liked the pizzeria and the mandarin food.
Overall: I liked the cruise, loved the ports, and would definitely cruise with Carnival again. This was my 4th cruise. The only complaint I have is 4 days was definitely to short, but that was our daughter's first cruise, and we wanted to make sure she liked cruising before doing a longer one with her.
We loved the Junior Suite. It truly spoiled us. Not sure we could do anything without a balcony from now on.
