We sailed on the Star Princess on Jan 27th. This was our second princess cruise. We booked a hotel in Fort Lauderdale the night before with Princess (Marriott North) but we booked our flights on our own. Our plane didn't arrive until after midnight and we expected to take a cab on our own to the hotel. To our surprise, there was a Princess Rep waiting for us that paid for our cab ride to the hotel ($40). We were the only people on our late flight for a Princess cruise but the Rep waited and helped us to our hotel. Great service before we even got on the ship and it continued throughout the week. I don't think a company could be better organized.

When we arrived to the ship at 1:30 and were in our room in about 10 minutes. The whole boarding process was very fast. We had a balcony cabin on the Caribe deck. We were very satisfied with the room. The balcony was large but yet private. If you stood way out by the deck rail, people above could look down on us but this wasn't an issue as the sitting area of the deck was private. The bed was a little hard but not bad. Our room steward was extremely pleasant and took great care of us.

The public areas of this ship are fabulous. My wife and I travel alot and stay at extremely nice hotels and this ship is similar to most 4-5 Star hotels. We thoroughly enjoyed the whole atmosphere of this ship. We rarely felt crowded. The pool areas only seemed busy on the "at sea" days in the afternoon but we were always able to find a nice sitting area without having to save a chair. We usually stayed by the adult pool area near the spa and almost always found it to be quiet and peaceful. The dining areas and lounges are very well organized. For some of the better shows, we made sure we arrived 10 minutes early and always got a good seat. Read more
