We have just returned from a 7 night Caribbean Cruise on the new Getaway. This was the first time on NCL with 15 cruises on Celebrity, 2 on RCL and one on Disney. I was very impressed with the cruise and the line. This was a complimentary VIP Art cruise, so I had no bias due to cost. The embarkation was very smooth and the first impression was one of awe. The first thing that struck me was art work on the hull, beautiful and so appropriate. We were treated with a special treat by having the artist LEBO on the cruise and got to talk and purchase some of his original art. Once aboard we were equally pleased with the interior furnishings. We loved the floor designs and ship layouts. We did not care for the theater though. It felt small and cramped as compared to the theaters found on Celebrity ships. Still it was very functional but the shows seamed cramped. The dinning options were really varied and quite good. As part of our cruise we were given the ultimate dinning package so we dinned in all but the Le Bistro restaurant. The food in the others were very good with some reservations at the La Cucina. The pasta dishes were just so so. We did eat a couple of lunches and one breakfast in the garden Café and found the food very good. Only one meal a breakfast was in one of the main dinning rooms and that was breakfast on the day we got off. Very good service and the food was good. We had a mid ship balcony room and was very comfortable though the balcony was smaller than we are use to. The service staff was friendly and very helpful and had no complains. The ship was very stable and though we had some choppy seas we felt nothing. The activities were exceptional. The pools, rock climbing wall, the rope course and water slides were a treat for the young and old alike. All in all, a great ship which we would sail again if the price is right.

Cabin Review

Great location. Near the mid ship elevators and very convenient getting anywhere on the ship.
