Background Information: I have been on 12 cruises, Carnival and NCL on the low end, Celebrity on the high end and usually go with Royal Caribbean. I am 31 years old, my wife just turned 30 on our Millennium cruise Jan. 28, 2007, so this was a birthday present of sort. This is a very objective and concise review to help others with choosing the proper cruise. In our opinion, the Celebrity brand has nice advantages but also some disappointments since merging with RCCL.
Travel to Port of Embarkation: The ship left out of Port Everglades, FLL. We flew in a day early, rented a car and stayed with family nearby. No hotel was needed. The cruise port is minutes away from the airport and we arrived at 1:30pm--no traffic, porters took our luggage and we were on the ship within 10 minutes. Our luggage arrived at our stateroom by 4:30pm. Champagne was served upon stepping into the ship.
Stateroom: Vista deck 7-deluxe oceanview with balcony. We had a HUGE balcony since I researched the specific cabin #s (3x the size of others in same category) so we were VERY pleased. Bedding was new with platform style mattress and luxe cotton sheets and duvet. Bathroom decor was plain but well laid out and maintained. Pump shampoo, lotion, packaged soap, cottonballs, hair dryer and Q tips provided. Overall, bedroom was attractive with new styling-VERY clean and looked brand new. We noticed each floor had a different color theme in hallway that followed through into the staterooms.
