The Good first: Due to a norovirus incident, we didn't board until late. I'm glad the crew did a great job cleaning up BEFORE we boarded.
Cruise Director Rick was INCREDIBLE!
I have over 100 days on Holland America Line and I've never experienced a cruise director who was more visible, enthusiastic and knowledgable as Rick.
Many passengers commented to me how impressed they were with Rick.
The Dancing with the Stars classes and finale was great. I didn't win, but I was a finalist!
The entertainment was great. Dancers Kayley and Brittany were amazing.
Dancer Paul was friendly and always happy to say hello.
Bartender Rex in the Crows Nest ALWAYS smiled and was my favorite crew member!
Now the BAD:
It's clear that that Maasdam has a problem with the plumbing.
The cabin next to me had water leaking into the cabin.
A friend of mine in cabin 036 had problems with the AC.
It's time for HAL to either sell the Maasdam or else do so major work on the hotel systems.
The length of time between courses in the MDR and in the Pinnacle took FOREVER!
The internet manager is gone so the librarian is taking over that job.
Their wasn't a dedicated DJ which made dancing in the crows nest less popular than on my previous cruises.
In conclusion, I really enjoyed my 14 day Southern Caribbean cruise, but the Maasdam needs major work.
