Amazing 1st Cruise

Sail Date: March 2014
Destination: Eastern Caribbean
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

This was our first cruise so I had no idea what to expect. People I spoke to at home either love cruising or hate it. After completing this cruise we are hooked!

We chose this cruise based on the itinerary and the fact that it was not a "family cruise". It was mainly older people which was fine with us, even tough we are in our 30's and 40's. There was kids on the cruise, though you would never have known. They were not misbehaved or loud at any time. It was super easy to meet new friends on board as well. We ended up meeting some great people who we spent a lot of time both on ship and in port with. From start to finish this was an amazing cruise.

CABIN:

We had a balcony on Caribe (the largest balcony in a regular non suite room). Was worried the room would feel claustrophobic, but the room was spacious enough and the huge balcony was perfect. We had partially private balcony, and partially exposed to above cabins. Plenty of closet space. Lots of storage More space for all our belongings as well. Our cabin steward was fantastic going the extra mile each day to make us feel special. He kept it spotless and worked around our schedule of us spending time in our room. Was nice to read on our balcony instead of sitting by the people with everyone else.

FOOD:

I have read other reviews from people saying that the food was not good. I do not know where they ate (buffet maybe?) We ate in the dining room (anytime dining) every night and there was not one meal that we were not 100% satisfied with and never left hungry. We did do formal nights at Crown Grill and Sabatinis (specialty restaurants $25 extra). Both were excellent. At Sabatinis we ate basically a 9 course meal. We were there for 3 hours. If you enjoy good food you will not be disappointed. The deserts were also to die for in all dining rooms. There is no doubt I put on weight this trip! We ate in the buffet only twice for breakfast as we missed the dining room cut off. We did anytime dining and sat both alone and at shared tables.

PORTS:

We chose this cruise specifically for the ports. We wanted all ports to be new to us. We stopped at Antigua, St. Luica, Barbados, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Bahamas. I will not review each port as everyone's tastes are different when it comes to shore activities. We spent most time on shore at beaches and they did not disappoint. We did both Princess tours and our own exploring. Doing our own thing was best for us as you chose exactly where to go and could choose how long to stay at each place. Getting a reliable cab in each port was very easy. Just remember to decide on a rate before you get in.

ENTERTAINMENT:

There was amble entertainment every day. We did movies under the stars twice, watched a hypnotist, a comedian and saw vocal impressionist Sean O'Shea. He was best entertainment on board. At our show he received a standing applause! Less
