This was none of our 1st cruise on any Carnival ship so we had come to expect certain things on the trip. We fully expected to have nice rooms, friendly staff & great food & shows. We did get majority of this, but NOT ALL.
Rooms / room staff...They were perfect..we each had a family cabin on Riveria deck rooms (1307 & 1299). They were both outside cabins. Perfect for family of 4. The 2nd bathroom / shower was a life saver for us.
Our room stuart was great always helpful & willing to help us when ever we needed anything. Rooms were always clean & tidy. Kids LOVED the towel animals each night.
Dining room / staff... We did LOVE our waiter Joseph....he was so funny & great conversations with him. He was wonderful with all of us remembering all our special likes / dislikes. Always willing to go above & beyond what ever request we had.... Food in dining room was great & nice variety. The breakfast brunch was ok....different servers as it was open seating so they were not as quick as dinner service. I found it ODD there was NO LUNCH DINING ROOM options at all. That was disappointing as we had 3 full days at sea & it would of been a nice option to go to other than the buffet line.
There were only 3 main shows in the Ovation Theater (The DIVA's, Latin Nights & The BRITS)
They were awful singers, but could dance. There were multiple shows of each of theses shows so if you didn't like 1st time around you most likely won't want to see them a 2nd time. There was a performer that was brought on board to do a juggling show he was great (we saw him last cruise on the Dream), and we enjoyed him then as well too. The SHOW TIMES are awful as well. We had early dining at 6pm. The 1st show was 7:15 and late show 9:15. I don't know how we are expected to see the show with out rushing thru dinner to make 1st show. 2nd dinner seating would be worse...8pm dinner means you would leave show early or have to miss dessert for late show. Not sure why they changed show times from 8pm & 10pm. This way early / late dinner seatings could relax & not rush thru.
Family shows were funny, but again scheduling was an issue....we had 6pm dinner so we rushed thru to make it to show for 7:30. We had to get there for 7:10 to get a seat for all of us. Again not sure why the times were not better. The ADULT only shows were funny & did have an encore show if you missed the 1st one which is great. The only issue is the " waiting room" was in the Ice lounge which is so STUPID....we didn't realize that & they actually made us push to side & let them in first. If the crowd is so large then maybe forgo BINGO in Ovation theater & have the adult comedy show there to seat many more people.
We did have a wonderful time all in all....Just a few issues I would love to see different next time.
