We had such a good time on the magic 2 years ago we decided to try it again but with a different itinerary. The ship itself is great. After all it is still carnival's flagship. Great layout, plenty of spaces to feel less like you're not onboard with 5000 people. Maybe some of the magic is gone however. The crew (although very accommodating) seemed a bit tired. I don't feel they get enough time off. The food is now just good but not great like last time.

I didnt help matters more when the captain decided to cancel our first stop due to high winds. It was his judgement call to protect his ship however we got within a mile or two within docking at routan Honduras and turned around while another albeit smaller ship was already docked. Big dissapointment. The only redemption to this trip was the excursion to xunantunich in Belize. Incredible! Or as they like to say in Belize "inbeliezeable". Avoid just walking around in Belize city without an excursion. It's very seedy. Dirty. Run down. This is a third world country don't forget!

Then there was cozumel. Been there enough times not to care. Very few public beaches. I won't pay an excursion to visit a beach. Imagine the USA then all the tourist trap shopping and sub par restaurants (our service was awful). I'm afraid to say but I'll say it. You get what you pay for. I wanted a cheap fun get away for the week and I got it plus a little less.I feel like I played Russian roulette with my vacation and didn't want to see 2 destinations in 1 week. The $13 of port charges for missing the first stop was a joke. We're taking a break from cruising because of this trip. The magic IS a good ship, but everything else was mediocre.

Cabin Review

Was okay. Like the inside cabin because its darker and get more rest! Room service always good.
