Ship Facts: Royal Princess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Royal Princess Deck Plans
Amazing time aboard the Royal Princess

I will start off by saying that I was worried based on some of the negative reviews I had been reading prior to our cruise. The debarkation went smoothly, no problems there. We were greeted with smiling faces from the time we entered the ship to the time we left. The ship is beautiful and very clean. Our cabin, A410, a mini suite was more than we needed and the balcony was fine in it's size. As for the complaints on the toilet paper roll- really people?? The food was excellent and more choices than any cruise we have sailed- including the amazing Disney line. The buffet on the 16th deck, a place we never used on any other lines as we never wanted to meet the crowds or unexciting food selections, was a definite surprise. The food selections were more than anyone would expect and there is something for everyone. Alfredo's was delicious and we ate there 3 separate times, but you need to get there early at lunch as this can be a busy time. International cafe is a 24hr place that serves specialty coffees for a small fee - better to get coffee card if you drink as many as we do. Gelatos is a specialty ice cream shop that serves homemade crepes on at sea days from 2-4pm that are a must to try but do cost a nominal fee unless you use your coffee card which is what we did. We chose early dining and were seated in Concerto which had friendly and hard working staff, service was sometimes slower but nothing to fret about. If you can't find anything you enjoyed eating on the boat, then it's you not the endless choices offered to you. The pools had plenty of seating, although shaded areas did fill up fast by 10-1030 so get there early to get your chairs. The movies under that stars was great, with popcorn, pizza and milk and cookies all brought out at intervals to your chairs with warm blankets available. The ports of call were all nice, with St Maarten's being the absolute best! You must go to Orient Beach as is truly a beautiful place. Phillipsberg was nice and clean, esp compared to St Thomas where I would not waste my time shopping. Overall, we totally enjoyed our experience onboard the Royal and will definately cruise with Princess again.
